You hear a lot of material on building your personal brand. One school of thought is how to look good on social media and traditional collateral like your resume. Although it is important it is a bad way to start.
Your brand is YOU. It is more about being good than looking good. In a very real way, you are a product (an employable, high potential employee or entrepreneur that is in play for the duration of your career). What you bring to the table, your track record, your network, and your approach are all elements of the high potential that is you.
Like all products, if you do not improve over time, you fall behind. Once you have established a pattern of over achievement, lifelong learning and development, and they turn into habits, you are on your way.
